On June 15, 2022, the MECP granted The Sarjeant Company Limited the required ECA and PTTW approvals. Many items on the original application were altered or removed for example a geosynthetic liner beneath the wash pond was required, a questionable secondary source pond below the pit was removed, strict monitoring was to be implemented and the license term was reduced to 5 years. Council reacted favourably to these changes.
